Facility Manager (TS Clearance)

National Capital Region


Details:

Seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to support a long-term contract with the Federal Government.

In this position, you will act as the Government owner’s technical representative to advise on facilities management activities for GSA-owned and leased buildings. Anticipate daily walks through spaces to identify problems with HVAC, lighting, etc. Duties will include coordinating facilities management issues with the building owner’s team and GSA with emphasis on cost, schedule, and quality control. Must be able to communicate effectively with project stakeholders and other team members. This job requires coordinating Government vendor activities.

Required qualifications:

  • TOP SECRET CLEARANCE
  • 6 years of experience providing support for facility management activities
  • Ability to speak, understand, read and write in the English language with a good level of proficiency
  • Experience in furniture assembly and dis-assembly, including ability to transport, crate, uncrate, assemble and dis-assemble basic furniture parts and pieces.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move 40-60 lb. boxes from one building to another with the use of hand truck/dollies. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, including multiple hours, and climb ladders.
  • Experience in preparing written reports, correspondence, and maintaining records.
  • Show proficiency with general hand tools: hammer, screwdriver, drill, voltmeter, etc.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of facilities and O&M practices
  • Ability to interpret engineering and architectural plans and specifications.

Salary:  $85k to $105k depending on experience and qualifications

Construction Cost Estimator – Government Representative

Details:

Seeking a Construction Cost Estimator with Federal building experience to support a long-term contract with the Federal Government.

In this position, you will function as the Government owner’s technical representative to advise on design and construction costs, and to assist team members with tracking project costs and funds. Duties will include preparing financial plans and construction/engineering estimates, monitoring implementation of financial policies, preparing regular and special-purpose reports, maintaining historical records, analyzing trends, establishing cost rates and personnel forecasts, preparing comparative evaluations of actual costs against budgeted funds, and determining rationale for variances between costs and budget.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field + 5 years of experience in commercial cost estimating.
  • Ability to produce itemized construction estimates and ROMs utilizing pricing database (e.g., RS Means).
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and techniques
  • Ability to interpret engineering and architectural plans and specifications.
  • Understanding of space design, IT/electrical drops, AV interface, and other MEP considerations as it related to interior space design and layout.
  • Ability to provide budget planning and support, including budget/cost data preparation, forecasting, financial management policies, formulation, presentation, execution, and report development.
  • Experience with database software and report production.
  • Experience with cost controls and financial cost tracking.
  • Experience with spreadsheets, including formulas and formats.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Federal Government construction cost estimating experience.
  • Familiarity with GSA leases and tenant improvement vs. warm-lit-shell costs.

Salary:  $90k to $110k depending on experience and qualifications
